Jo Ann Alter, the creator of Art Directions, has been leading artists’ studio tours since 2004. As the president of Jo Ann Alter Fine Arts, an art consulting firm that advises and facilitates the formation of art collections for businesses and private collectors, she has been at the forefront of the New York City art world. Since launching Jo Ann Alter Fine Arts in the mid 1970’s, her client base has included companies such as CBS, Oppenheimer & Co, Los Angeles Times, Republic National Bank, and Baron Capital. Her art installations were featured in publications such as Interiors, The Designer, Connecticut Cottages & Gardens, and The New York Times. She was a past member of the Contemporary Art Acquisitions and National Committees for the Israel Museum and an active supporter of the Columbia University School of the Arts.
